Really beautiful pictures. They clearly show that toy trains was a hobby for the richer families. By the way, what is the origin of these nice photo's?

Hi Eggo and thanks for visiting my toy train page :-) sure, these pictures show this hobby is for few people on this year (1916). They comes from a private american collector and i have these from a friends, so i don't know much about photos... many thanks again... in italy lionel trains is unknow, i'm the only collector at the time !!!

Perhaps you are a solitary Lionel enthusiast in Italy, but certainly not in the EU. Few toy train operatores leave traces on the web like websites and blogsites, but I gathered a few on my blogsite. The British Lionel collectors club has members from for instance Malta. You can also notice quiet a substantial Ebay trading activity in Germany, France, Spain, Sweden and Greece. So, the Lionel virus is well spread out over Europe. I hope that you will show more of your layout and collection soon on one of your blogsites and tell a bit more about your enthusiasm for American toy trains.

ciao heggo, many thanks for your support, i have visited your blogsite and i'm enthusiast from your work... you are a great collector and an expert to prewar lionel train restoring.
My layout is under costruction at the moment. I have a little TrainRoom where i put my italian and american collection :-) This is my relaxing room...
I have a request for you.
I have an American Flyer Hiawatha and a Lionel Hudson i want to restor but i'm not be able for non experience... you can help me ?!? i have experience in H0 train from italian railroad history, but Lionel is different. Another question for you: in you country there's the 220/50 or 110/60... in the first case, how you resolve the problem ?!?

I treni Lionel di Danilo - Danilo's Lionel Trains

Ciao a tutti... un sogno si è avverato !!! Quale ?!? trovare un altro italiano che opera con questi meravigliosi treni americani. Il mio amico Danilo usa questi treni assieme al padre che li portò in italia molti anni fa quando tornò da una lunga sessione lavorativa svoltasi negli USA. Ora, di tanto in tanto, ritirano fuori queste meraviglie e le fanno girare sul plastico che hanno approntato. Mi ha comunque promesso che li userà sempre più spesso, tempo permettendo, perchè la soddisfazioni che ti danno questi modelli, il loro rumore e la loro bellezza, non hanno eguali... alcune foto, fatte col cellulare, al plastico che Danilo e padre stanno costruendo !!! Prossimamente altre foto ed evoluzioni in merito !!! GRANDE DANILOOOOOOOOO !!! Hy guys... my dream comes true !!! i found another one here in italy who plays with lionel trains !!! Danilo with him father, was buildt this layout. Here is some pictures of this work... soon other pictures and other layout planning !!! DANILO IS GREAT ...

Errata corrige!

Ciao a tutti. Inanzitutto voglio scusarmi con voi per la mia cronica assenza di quest'ultimo periodo ma sono troppo preso col lavoro e non riesco a postare nuovi argomenti e nuove foto sui lavori del mio plastico! Grazie ad un attento utente, il signor Renato Borgognoni, devo chiedere scusa a tutti per il grossolano errore commesso da me durante la battitura del post riguardante il Model Expo di Verona. Nelle immagini della locomotiva a vapore Gr685 scrivo erroneamente la sua provenienza di casa Rivarossi, la vecchia 1/80 per capirci. Il signor Renato mi fa presente quanto segue: Attenzione verso la fine: la gr685 1/80 non è Rivarossi, bensì la 685-026 Fleischmann , come si può notare dal famoso motore ad anello e dal gancio ad uncino (tipo C). Ringrazio di cuore il sig.Renato che ha corretto una mia maldestra svista ! Model Expo Verona 2008 - Sezione Immagini

Oggi pomeriggio sono stato al Model Expo di Verona, la bellissima manifestazione che racchiude tutti i tipi di modellismo esistenti... ovviamente per il mio blog sui treni vi saranno solo ed esclusivamente loro a farla da padrona !!!
